How To Renew Your Florida Registration Online
Step One: Gather Your Information
Please have the following information ready to go:
- Vehicle type (sedan, SUV, truck, motorcycle etc)
- Current license plate number
- Vehicle make
- Vehicle year

Step Two: Visit eTags.com
Visit our dedicated Florida vehicle registration renewal page right here.
You will then be guided to enter the details listed in the prior section. After this, you will be led through a series of simple pages where you will provide further required information. Here’s what you’ll need to enter over the next several screens:
- Contact information – email address and mobile phone number
- Vehicle details. Here you will be asked the following questions:
- Has your registration been expired for more than one year?
- Is the vehicle leased?
- Is your current license plate Specialty and/or Personalized?
Please respond accordingly and then click Next.
Step Three: Choose Your Plate
At this point, you’ll have a really cool opportunity to opt for a specialty plate or a personalized plate…or to combine both of these things. You will first be asked if you’d like to add or replace a specialty plate. If so, click Yes. If not, click No and Next to proceed.
Next, you can choose to personalize your plate. If you do want to add your own flair to your plate, you will be asked to provide an alphanumeric combination of seven characters that will have to be approved by the DMV. Otherwise, click No and Next.

Step Six: Review, Edit, Add
This is your summary page. Take a moment to review the information on the screen. If any details, such as contact, vehicle, shipping, or renewal period info are incorrect, please click the Edit link to go back and fix the issue.
You also have the option to add a second vehicle to your order for renewal here by clicking Add Another Vehicle. Please note that only the same service can be added. For any other services (aside from renewal), please complete this order and place a separate one.
If you skipped the Specialty Plate option and have since changed your mind, you’ll have the chance to add that perk here as well. Otherwise, if everything looks good, go ahead and click Checkout.
Step Seven: Pay
This is your final step! Look over our terms and conditions, enter your payment details, electronically sign your name, and click Place Order.
