New residents have sixty (60) days from the date of establishing residency in Maryland in which to obtain a new title (and registration)

How to Transfer Your Out-of-State Title to Maryland Online

Step One: Gather Your Documents

Please have the following documents ready to get started with your online title transfer:

A passing emissions/safety inspections certificate
Proof of local, valid auto insurance
The vehicle title
Proof of residency
Maryland driver’s license

Confirm your vehicle year and make. Then click Next.
Enter the owner’s contact information. You will need both a working mobile phone number and email address.
Provide the individual owner’s first and last name. If the owner is a business, enter the full company name.
Fill in the shipping address. You may be asked to confirm these details. If everything looks good, click Next. Otherwise, hit the blue Back button to edit whatever needs correcting.

You’ve now reached your summary page. Take a moment to review the screen. You will see the summary of fees, your contact information, your order details, and your shipping address. If you need to make ang changes, click the blue Edit link in the corresponding area. If everything is correct, click the Checkout button.

This brings you to your payment page. You will see the total amount due as well as two payment options – credit card and PayPal. If you choose PayPal, you will be directed to their platform.
