How To Register a Vehicle in Maryland Online with eTags
Step 1.
Visit our homepage, select Maryland as your state of residence, choose the New Registration option, then click Continue.
Step 2.
For a vehicle that is already titled in your name in Maryland, select New Plates and Registration from the following menu. If your situation happens to match the other options in the menu, feel free to click one of the other choices and then click Next.

Step 3.
Enter your VIN. This is your vehicle identification number and it can generally be found on your certificate of title, on the driver’s side dashboard near the windshield, and sometimes on the lower, outer edge of the driver’s seat.
Step 4.
Confirm that the vehicle retrieved from the DMV system is indeed correct. If something doesn’t look right, click the Back button and look over your VIN input to see if it was entered accurately. Otherwise, click Next.
Step 5.
Enter your contact information. You will need both a working email address and a mobile phone number here.
Step 6.
Fill in the owner details. For an individual owner, provide the full legal first and last names as they are listed on the certificate of title. For a business, enter the full legal company name as it is listed on the title.

Step 7.
Provide your shipping address. Remember to include an apartment number if applicable. You may be asked to confirm your address if the way you entered it appears to be different than what the USPS has on file. Simple review the details and either confirm they are correct or go back and edit them.
Step 8.
On your summary page you will see a breakdown of costs, your vehicle details, and your personal information including name, email, and shipping address. If everything looks good, you can proceed. If there is something that needs correction, click the corresponding Edit button.

Step 9.
The payment page will supply you with a link to read over our terms and conditions, as well as space to fill in your payment details. Once you’ve taken the time to do both, you can go ahead and click Pay. And your registration order has been submitted!
