If you’ve recently found yourself in the situation where you’ve lost the sticker (decal) off your license plate, or maybe your license plate itself has been damaged or lost, then this post is for you. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to replace your lost plate or sticker in Maryland.

Plate and sticker replacement is easy with eTags. Let’s get started:
Step One.
Head over to the eTags homepage and select Maryland as your state of residence from our drop-down menu.
Step Two.
Choose the Replace Lost Plate or Sticker option and click Continue.
Step Three.
Specify the service you need. In this case, as long as your registration is current, you can choose Replace License Plate or Sticker and click Next.
Step Four.
Here, you can click on which type of replacement you need. Your choices will be:
- Sticker/decal only
- License plate and sticker

Step Five.
Provide your vehicle information by entering your license plate number or VIN and clicking Next. A VIN is your vehicle identification number, and it can be found on your title, your registration card, and on the inside of the driver’s side dashboard. In some cases, you can also find it on the outer edge of the driver’s seat.
Step Six.
Confirm your vehicle information. You will see the year, make, and plate type on this screen. If all the details are correct, click Next. Otherwise, click Back to return to the previous page and fix any errors.
Step Seven.
Enter your contact information. You will need to provide both an email address and a mobile phone number.
Step Eight.
This is where you will provide the owner details. If the owner of the vehicle is an individual, fill in the legal first and last name. If the owner is a business, click Company, and enter the whole business name.
Step Nine.
Provide your shipping address including the name, then click Next. You may be asked to confirm the address if what you’ve entered is different than what the USPS has on file. Please take a moment to confirm that all the details are correct here.

Step Ten.
This is your summary page. Here you have the opportunity to review all the aspects of your order. You will see your contact information, your vehicle information, and your shipping information. Please look over all these elements and be sure all the particulars are as they should be. If you need to make a correction to any of these categories, simply click the blue Edit link that corresponds to that area. If everything is ready to go, you can click Checkout.
Step Eleven.
On your checkout page you can take a moment to read our terms and conditions and enter your payment details. Choose your form of payment – either credit card or PayPal. And when you’re ready, go ahead and click Pay. And that’s it…. you’ve ordered your replacement sticker and/or plate!
