How to Renew Vehicle Registration in Florida Online
- Head over to our homepage and select Florida as your state of residence or go straight to our dedication Florida renewal page.
- Under the Services menu, click the first option: Renew Registration, then hit Continue
- Enter your vehicle information. You will be asked to provide the following:Vehicle Type
- Vehicle Type
- License Plate number
- Vehicle make
- Vehicle year
- Next, enter your contact information. You will need:
- An email address
- A mobile phone number
- Now, you will need to answer a series of questions:
- Has your registration been expired for more than one year?
- Is the vehicle leased?
- Is your current license plate a Specialty Plate and/or Personalized?

- Here you will have the option to upgrade to a Specialty Plate if you’d like. Specialty Plates are a FLHSMV program that allows you to choose from over one hundred uniquely designed tags that support various charities, foundations, and organization across the state of Florida. If you click Yes, you will be directed to our catalog of available Specialty Plates.
- This is where will also have the opportunity to personalize your plate if you so wish. If you click Yes, you will be asked to enter the alphanumeric combo of your choice. If you clock No, you will move on with a standard plate.
- Enter the registered owner details. For an individual, you will need the first and last name. For a company, you will need to provide the full business name.
- Choose your renewal period. Your options are for either a one (1) or two (2)-year renewal time frame.
- Provide your automobile insurance details. You will need to have on hand your insurance provider’s name as well as your current, valid policy number.
- Fill in your shipping address according to where you’d like your renewal sent.
- Confirm that the address is indeed correct. If there are errors, you will be able to go back to the previous screen and fix them. Otherwise, you can proceed.

- This is your summary page. Here you will see the details of your order and can review all the information to be sure it all looks good. You also have the chance here to add other vehicles to the same order. Please note that you can only add a vehicle for the same service. Meaning, if you have another registration to renew, you can do so in one order. For all other services, please start a new order after this one has been placed. If everything looks right, you can go ahead and click Checkout.
- Enter your payment details, take a peek at our terms and conditions, electronically sign your name, and when you’re ready, click Place Order.
