How to Replace Your New York Vehicle Title Online with eTags

2. Click Replace Lost or Damaged Title and then Continue.
3. Verify that your name appears on the lost/damaged title as the legal owner of the vehicle.
**Please note that only the legal owner may request a replacement title.
4. Enter the VIN (vehicle identification number)
5. Confirm vehicle details – you will see both year and make listed here. If it looks correct, proceed to the next step.
6. Provide your contact information. You will need both an email address and mobile phone number. You will also have the option to opt in or out of receiving text. message updates regarding your order. If you want to get these notifications, check the blue box below. Otherwise, leave it empty!
7. Specify whether the vehicle owner is an individual or company. Click the corresponding option and complete the spaces below. You will need the individual’s full name and date of birth OR the company’s full name.
8. Select the reason you are requesting a replacement title. If your title has been lost, that lost document will be voided, and a new document will be issued. If your title has been damaged, you’ll be asked to mail in the damaged paper, and your new title will bear the same information as the damaged one.
9. Enter your shipping address. You may be asked to confirm your shipping address. If so, please review it to be sure there are no errors.
10. This is your summary page. Here, you have the chance to look over all your order details and edit them if necessary. This includes both your contact information and vehicle particulars. You’ll see a summary of charges here, and the option to add another vehicle.
**Please note that adding another vehicle only applies to the same service being requested. Meaning, if you have lost or damaged two titles for two vehicles, you can bundle your order. For any other service, please complete this request and start a new order. If everything looks good, click Checkout.
11. This is your final page! Choose your method of payment:
