In case you need a little cheat sheet before you start the replacement process, here is a step-by-step:
- On our home page, choose New York as your state from our drop-down menu
- Select the second option: Replace Registration or Window Sticker and then the Continue button
- First you will be asked if the owner of the vehicle (and tag) is an Individual or Company. Choose the answer that is correct for you
- If you chose Company, you will be asked to fill in the full Company name
- If you selected Individual, you will be asked to fill in your first and last name as it appears on your legal driver’s license
- Next you will be prompted to provide the vehicle license plate number and then click Next
- The following question will ask you to confirm that the vehicle information displayed is indeed the car/truck/SUV for which you are replacing a tag. In other words, after entering the plate number, our site will ask, “Is This the Correct Vehicle” with the Year and Make of the vehicle displayed below.
- If the information presented to you is correct, click Next
- You will then be given a series of questions regarding the state of your vehicle, with the options to select the answers Yes or No
- Once you have responded to these questions, click Next
- Here you will be asked to supply your Shipping Address, and when completed, click Next
- You may see a screen asking to confirm your legal address – this is so that the USPS has your information correct and can deliver your plate to the appropriate address
- The following prompt will be for your telephone number and email address. Fill these in and click Next.
We’re at the home stretch now, folks! This is the place where your estimated fee will be displayed, and also the chance edit any information that you have input, if necessary. You also will have the opportunity to add another vehicle to the order, if let’s say, your partner’s license plate was also stolen or vandalized at the same time.
