Vehicle Registration Renewal Requirements
First, you’ll need to be sure you meet the following state-mandated requirements:
- Insurance: Your local vehicle insurance policy must meet with Florida state minimum requirements which are $10,000 each in Personal Injury Protection and Property Damage Liability. The policy must be current and valid and updated with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV).
- Tickets and fines: If you have any outstanding fines or unpaid tickets, they must be resolved and/or paid off before renewing your vehicle registration.
Once your insurance is in order and any fines or tickets paid, you can begin the renewal process.
