America’s best-selling car for the past 22 years goes hybrid for its 2025 model. The Toyota Camry debuts its ninth generation with a hybrid powertrain and will exclusively be a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The only-hybrid Camry is offered with a gasoline engine and two electric motors. The newest Camry will not be a plug-in model; instead it’s the car’s engine and brakes the will act as battery chargers.

Toyota actually plans to offer a hybrid version of all its vehicles. Only two sports cars plus the 4Runner SUV are without a hybrid equivalent. Toyota daring to exclusively offer the hybrid version of its best-selling car shows how conventional electric vehicles have become in the last few years. Exploding topics says there are 2,442,270 EVs registered in America.
The Toyota Camry 2025 sedan has a 225 net combined horsepower on front wheel drive model and 232 hp on electric-on demand all-wheel drive versions. The AWD system automatically supplies power to the back wheels, when needed. The hybrid Camry is supposed to make its debut in the Spring of next year. Since 2007, Camry buyers can choose to buy hybrid, but in 2024 no more option for gas-powered.

All models will include LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights. The sport grades will boast racing-like functional aerodynamic air ducts, front-side canards plus rear diffuser for a smoother transition between the high-velocity airflow and freestream airflow of the ambient atmosphere.

It started out as a compact vehicle, but by the 90s it took on the mid-size classification. The Camry name comes from the Japanese word Kamuri which means crown. The Japanese automaker is known for using crown names for primary Toyota models. The 1955 Toyota Crown, the 1957 Toyota Corona, followed by the Corolla in 1966.

The 2025 hybrid model has new features that come standard like the smart-key with push-to-start button, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear air vents. The XLE model has automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers. Technology is at its finest, with an 8-inch or 12.3-inch audio multimedia system that comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 4G Wi-Fi connectivity. The list of features that come with the new 2025 hybrid Camry are simply countless.
