Riding a motorcycle can give you a deep sense of wanderlust. Freedom is part of your ride and you can conveniently get from A to B like a torpedo.

But the adventure doesn’t start unless you are 100% prepped to pass your motorcycle driving test and get a license.

While the written test comes with its difficulties, the road test takes the challenge to the next level.

If you are familiar with such feeling, let us help you rock your next motorcycle driving test like a champ.

Below you’ll find 7 tips on how to never fail your test at the first try.

#1 Choose a smaller motorcycle

You don’t need to show up with the most eccentric motorcycle to pass the test. Start with a smaller vehicle for your own comfort.

Your test is not a motor show, nor a competition. There are some tasks and instructions you need to follow that can demand better handling.

The smaller the motorcycle, the easier for you to handle maneuvers with confidence.

#2 Learn the road signs

Like any other motorist, you must follow the rules and pay attention to road signs.

Ignoring those signs will only contribute to more confusion and, therefore, make you lose points at performance.

Go through your manual and study each road sign before the test. Not only are road signs part of your test, but they are also key to your safety.

#3 Keep your motorcycle handbook handy

If you passed your written test, you are then one step away from holding your license. But that doesn’t mean you should rid of your handbook.

Your motorcycle handbook comes with key topics that are crucial to your test.

The more you go through your manual, the more prepared you’ll be to handle tough road scenarios.

#4 Test your motorbike

Make sure your vehicle is in great conditions with anticipation. Check your lights, look under your motorcycle for leakage, test your brakes, and so on.

Arrange a vehicle inspection at least one week before the test. That will give you enough for rooms for repairs that may take a little more time to address.

You don’t want to ride a motorcycle that could compromise your chances of passing the test.

#5 Practice is vital

No matter how confident you feel after passing the written test, the road test can be a real challenge.

Overly confident candidates, including experts, are vulnerable to mistakes regardless of their experience.

Hence, focus on difficult riding scenarios and practice as much as you can until you feel 100% confident to take the test.

#6 Be punctual and bring a licensed companion

At this point, you want to get a motorcycle license, and punctuality means everything.

Failure to arrive on time to your test or bring someone with a license is bad enough to lose your chance of taking the motorcycle driving test.

Be there on time. Arrive at least 15 minutes early and bring a licensed driver with you. Not to mention that you should keep your permit handy at all times.

#7 Switch off your phone

Do not even consider answering a phone call or replying to a test while taking your test. That would result in an inevitable fail.

Leave your phone at home or in an area where you can forget about it for once. By putting your phone down, you are not only focusing on your test, but you are also enhancing your safety.

A motorcycle driving test is the last step to a new episode in your life where you no longer need someone to give you ride.

It’s never ok to underestimate it. Follow our advice and pass your test with a well-deserved distinction.
