First, let’s talk power – of which the Recon boasts dual-motor electric powertrain revving up to 650 horsepower. allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. This, along with 620 lb-ft of torque, means that the Recon is sure to deliver an exciting ride. Of course this SUV comes standard with all-wheel drive, and features Selec-Terrain traction management – a system that provides five distinct drive modes to accommodate all sorts of road conditions with ease.

And what of the driving range for this powerful EV? Well, it is made to deliver a substantial estimated driving range of up to 250 miles. But how long will it take to juice up, you want to know? From 5% to 80% is set to be a very brief charging time of 28 minutes!
Taking a peek under the hood, the Recon utilizes smart front and rear electric drive modules, each offering a hefty 250 kilowatts. The Moab trim’s rear module features a 15:1 final drive ratio, together with an 11:1 ratio upfront, which offers automatic disconnects at each wheel end to make for optimal energy usage on roads.
But aside from all the power and range and battery, perhaps the coolest feature of the Recon is the inspiration it takes from its predecessor, the Wrangler. In what way? Well, just as the Wrangler can wangle its way from closed vehicle to a full outdoor experience with the shedding of its doors, the Recon follows suit.
This new boxy, sturdy EV offers adventure lovers a way to truly interact with the natural world around them: all four doors, the rear quarter glass, and swing gate are all fully removable!

For off-roading drivers and nature enthusiasts, this access to the outside world means connecting with all the elements – whether it be sunshine, wind, rain, or mud. And what’s more, there are no tools needed to make the transformation. Each part is made to be removed and replaced with ease.
Initially available in the US and Canada, the 2026 Recon aims for a global reach soon after. The first model to hit the market will be the Moab trim, equipped with a hefty 100 kWh battery pack and 33-inch tires, offering a remarkable 9.1 inches of ground clearance.
But the Recon is not all about the rugged capabilities. Inside, this EV SUV offers a 12.3-inch driver cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display, adding a a bit of panache and technology to its intrepid drivers. Currently slated for availability in only the U.S. and Canada, Jeep does have plans to share their newest addition with the rest of the world soon after. So, is the Recon on your shopping list yet?
