When renewing your California registration on eTags.com, you will be provided with multiple payment options including PayPal Credit and Affirm that support monthly installment plans. You would click on your preferred option which navigates to that credit providers site. You will be required to complete a credit verification process. If that is successful, your order with eTags will be completed. If that verification process with the credit provider is not successful, you will be returned to our website to select a different payment option.
In some case, the payment options that offer monthly installments may not be shown on our website if the fees for your registration could not be confirmed and so are presented as an estimate. This happens when the DMV returns an error for your registration that requires review. This may be due to things like smog requirements, address verification requirements or other. In such cases, only the credit card payment options will be available. You may contact our support team by visiting eTags.com/support if this is representative of what you are experiencing to see if the registration error can be resolved by our team prior to the order being placed on our website.
