Vehicle Registration Information

The Miami-Dade Tax Collector's office is a division of the county's Finance Department. This division is in charge of the titling and registering of all motor vehicles. Owners registering their motor vehicles for the very first time are obligated to pay an initial fee and must also renew the registration regularly.

The registration consists of a license plate which must be replaced every 7 to 10 years and a decal (sticker) and registration card which must be replaced (renewed) every 6, 12, or 24 months. The fees paid at the time a registration is renewed are a state imposed tax which vary based on the type of vehicle it is, its weight, and more.
