They have already communicated their intentions to let autonomous vehicles be on the public road to enhance road safety.<\/p>\n<p>California, the Golden State, has made it legal for approved driverless cars to begin testing on California&#8217;s public roads. It is a solid evolution for a city that believes in technology and could potentially change the economy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.etags.com\/blog\/future-of-car-technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>SEE ALSO:\u00a0This Autonomous Car Proves Future of Car Technology is Now<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>A new reality<\/h2>\n<p>Imagine a day when robotaxis take over the roads with a new approach towards congestion and &#8220;good&#8221; driving.<\/p>\n<p>Does it sound unreal to you? Well, California is giving us hope to live in world where there&#8217;s no drivers, but just passengers.<\/p>\n<p>While the new regulation will give green light to a new vehicle concept, autonomous cars still need an approved human at the wheel for testing procedures.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Jean Shiomoto, California Department of Motor Vehicles Director, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This is a major step forward for autonomous technology in California. Safety is our top concern and we are ready to begin working with manufacturers that are prepared to test fully driverless vehicles in California.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Kicking off April 2nd, the CA DMV will begin issuing driverless-testing permits.
