Can I transfer the title of a gifted vehicle online in the state of Florida?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, you can! It\u2019s a straightforward and simple process that can be completed online at eTags.com.<\/p>\n

Which leads to the next, obvious question:<\/p>\n

How do I transfer ownership of my gifted vehicle online with eTags?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here is a step-by-step guide to transferring the title (and therefore, ownership) of a vehicle that has been given to you as a gift:<\/p>\n

  1. Head over to our homepage and select Florida as your state from our drop-down menu.<\/li>\n
  2. Scroll down to the option titled \u201cBought a Car or Got One as Gift\u201d and click it.<\/li>\n
  3. You will be taken to the next screen named \u201cComplete Your Florida Title Transfer Online.\u201d This is because a transfer for a gifted vehicle is almost identical to a standard transfer! Here you will select which state the vehicle is currently titled in.<\/li>\n
  4. Next is the confirmation that you actually have<\/em> the certificate of title on hand. Without a title, you cannot make the gift transfer. You will have to ask the generous person giving the gift to apply from their state of residence for a duplicate (replacement) title before you can continue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. The following screen will ask you to enter the VIN (vehicle identification number).<\/li>\n
    2. After the VIN, you will have to confirm the year and make of the vehicle.<\/li>\n
    3. Now you will choose your kind of transfer: Transfer as Gift<\/li>\n
    4. This page asks what type of vehicle you are transferring<\/li>\n
    5. If you plan on registering your vehicle as well as transferring the title, you will have the opportunity to do so here. If you do need registration, you have the option to transfer an active plate that\u2019s already in your name or to order a new tag. If you don\u2019t plan on driving the car right away, you can choose the \u201cNo Plate\u201d box.<\/li>\n
    6. Here is where you answer what type of owner you are – Individual or Business \u2013 and then enter the information requested below. (Name, gender, date of birth).<\/li>\n
    7. This step asks for your physical address in the state of Florida. If you need the new title shipped to an address that is different from your legal place of residence, you have the option to enter another address here as well.<\/li>\n
    8. Now you will be asked to confirm your address. (We like to be sure!)<\/li>\n
    9. Next is the space to provide your contact info: email address and telephone number.<\/li>\n
    10. We arrive at your checkout screen here. Here you can review your details and edit your order if necessary. If everything looks food, click \u201cCheckout.\u201d<\/li>\n
    11. And finally, you can enter your payment information and click \u201cPlace Order.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      And that is the whole process of transferring your gifted title online!<\/p>\n

      It\u2019s important to know that your actual physical title needs to be signed over by the person gifting it as the \u201cSeller\u201d.
