For the third year, UCR fees have been reduced compared to the past. If you\u2019re a motor carrier, for-hire passenger motor carrier such as a school bus, freight forwarder, broker or leasing company that operates interstate, you\u2019re subject to unified carrier registration fees.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If you\u2019re a for-hire school transportation company that provides service across state lines, such as driving students to field trips across state lines, you need to make sure you\u2019re up to date on your UCR fees. If you have a fleet of school buses for example, all school buses have to be included in your count to determine your actual UCR fees. Even if only a part of those buses cross state lines.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etags.com\/app\/ucr?utm_source=digibanners_ucr\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"200\" class=\"wp-image-13365 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.etags.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/URC-FOR-ALLSTATES-2.png\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 800px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 800\/200;\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Say you have a fleet of 50 school buses, but only 10 travel interstate. You would still have to count all 50 to determine your UCR fee bracket which is based on the entire size of your fleet as a transportation company. As of January 1, 2007 under the UCR Act, school transportation fleets weren\u2019t allowed to subtract school buses that don\u2019t cross state lines.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cThe Act does not allow for. Exclusion of vehicles used in the intrastate transportation of passengers.\u201d There is an exemptions however on intrastate motor carriers (those who don\u2019t cross state lines) transporting property, waste and recyclables.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"412\" class=\"wp-image-13613 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.etags.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Screen-Shot-2020-04-07-at-10.32.33-AM.png\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 550px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 550\/412;\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In our 50 school bus fleet example, the UCR fee falls in the 21 to 100 vehicle count bracket.
