Note that there are key forms that cannot be accessed online, which may require residents to visit their local DMV office to fill them out in person.<\/p>\n

\nWhether you are the rightful heir, complete this form to confirm and transfer the ownership of a vehicle into your name with the RI DMV. This form must be notarized prior to submission.<\/p>\n

Sales or Use Tax Exemption – Form SU-NR-1<\/strong> | Download<\/a>
\nComplete this form to ask for exemption from paying the state sales and use taxes when registering a car you bought in another state if you were not living in RI.<\/p>\n

Sales and Use Tax Affidavit of Gift of Motor Vehicle – Form SU 87<\/strong> | Download<\/a>
\nUse this form to certify that you received a vehicle as a gift and there was no money transaction for the agreement. If valid, you’ll be exempt from paying the state sales and use taxes. This form must also be notarized.<\/p>\n

Sales or Use Tax Exemption Certificate Motor Vehicles – Form T-333-1<\/strong> | Download<\/a>
\nWhether you meet the criteria specified on the form, you’ll be allowed to claim exemption from paying the RI sales and use taxes on your vehicle by filling out this form.<\/p>\n

Rhode Island Change of Address Forms<\/h2>\n

The RI DMV requires drivers to notify a change of address within 10 days of moving to a new address. It’s free of charge and you are allowed to do it either online or by mail.<\/p>\n
