The Utah Department of Public Safety is in charge of licensing and other vehicle related proceedures. It's important to make sure your records are updated in their database which includes informing them promptly about your address change. All states expect that you update your address soon after you move.
Many people nowadays prefer the convenience of online processing for changing address information on their license, ID cards, registrations, and other documents. Even the USPS offers an online option for updating your mailing address. The UT DPS is keeping with the times and offering their residents the same option. To update your address online, visit the Driver License Online site and enter the following information:
Last name as it appears on the license or ID
License or identification card number
The date your license or ID was issued
The last four of your social security number
You will not be required to obtain a new copy of your license or ID with the new address but if you would like to, you can visit a Driver's License office near you. You may also choose to update your license information or ID in person.
